Focus on what matters.
Eliminate the rest.

Hello, my name is Jas, and I am the Clinical Director of Measuring What Matters. As a Registered Psychotherapist, my mission as the founder and owner of this clinic was always to create a space in our community that celebrated our differences instead of blaming them for our stresses.

Finding the right counsellor can be an intimidating process. When you know what to look for and understand what would best suit your specific concerns, choosing a counsellor can be a positive and productive first step on your way to better mental health. And if you do not know, well that is why I am here.

My approach is built on a foundation of connecting and providing a space free of judgement and open to honest dialogue. The power of conversation is genuinely something I believe in wholeheartedly. When we have the courage to speak up and work on our internal struggles, we lead the path to our happiness. Using a Cognitive Behavioural and Human Centered Approach, the sessions will be rooted in collaboration and trust. Your healing is my top priority. We are all on our own paths of happiness, and during our time together, you will never be alone on your mental health journey.

Together we will focus on what matters and eliminate the rest.

How to get started

I know it can be scary to start counselling, especially thinking about sharing your stories and experiences with a stranger while being vulnerable. Recognizing that you need help and taking the first step is the most important thing you can do for yourself and the people who care about you.

As a counsellor, I believe in developing a good rapport with my clients to better understand them and to improve our therapeutic relationship. I believe in meeting the client where they are, I will not force you to talk about something you’re not ready to do. Finding a therapist that you, as a client, can feel comfortable talking and connect to is very important.

Blog

Long before the ubiquity of blogs and other social media, mental health professionals touted the benefits of writing about thoughts and emotions that arise from traumatic or stressful experiences. Reading mental health blogs can bring fresh perspectives on challenges, provide encouragement and a glimmer of hope. There’s comfort in knowing that someone else has been there–it can be nice to know that you’re not alone in the things you are going through.

The Measuring What Matters blogs touches on a variety of mental health topics published by renowned experts in the field, personal stories and experiences, and my own thoughts on various topics.

No matter where you are in your health journey, you’ll find a story on Measuring What Matters by someone who’s been there too.
